Ben and Deanna began leading the Programming Ministry in 2006 with great
success! Their responsibilities include Drama Team, Unspeakable Praise signing
team, sermon series packaging and preparation, research and marketing for the
series, visual/media arts, and service scheduling/promotion. Their flare for
creativity, innovation, and organization has been a unique addition to our
structure and has influenced our capacity for outreach.
Having his roots in Deep South Mississippi, Ben grew up under
the leadership of Charles H. Triplett in the First UPC of Natchez. The influence
of Pastor Triplett has been instrumental in Ben's ministry and desire to reach
people. At 14, he moved to Nashville and began ministering in different
capacities under Bishop Ray Carson. "Having the honor to grow up under two
powerhouse pastors has made an eternal mark on my life and their energy inspires
me to keep reaching people." Ben works as a local police officer for the city
and owns a property management company.
Growing up in Nashville, Deanna understands the impact of visual and creative
imagery to today's generation. She had the privilege to be raised under the
leadership of Bishops L.H. Benson and Ray Carson. Having graduated from Belmont
University in 1997 with a B.S. degree in Political Science and Business
Administration, Deanna works fulltime for the Court system in Nashville, but
spends much of her available time working in ministry. "Today's fast paced,
image driven world, warrants a new approach to outreach and ministry. We have
the same Acts message, but we present it in a relevant medium. We are reaching
people where they are in life and making a difference for Christ."
Ben and Deanna met at GPC and were married in 1994. They have two
children Benjamin Carson (1999) and Aeryn Claire (2005).
The
Alexander's have developed a team of workers to lead the Unspeakable Praise,
Drama, and visual/ media arts departments. Deanna says of the team leaders,
"Having great team leaders in this ministry that are faithful and committed to
the goal of reaching lost souls and who understand the vision of GPC, make the
programming ministry successful. It takes more than talent, it's a dedicated,
anointed group of people that touch lives and win hearts to Christ and we have
those people in Programming." The Programming Ministry's perseverance for
quality and organization as well as their passion for people make them an
essential part of GPC.
