Evangelism Ministry

Tim and Cathy Walker began leading the Evangelism Ministry of GPC at the beginning of 2007.  Their responsibilities include organizing outreach events of GPC and overseeing other efforts throughout the year.  Of course, evangelism is every Christian's responsibility and is born because of what the Lord has done for each of us.  There is something natural about giving a report of good news to those we know.  The Evangelism Ministry seeks to assist the church family in letting Jesus Christ testify through us.

That assistance varies from person to person, however.  While there are some Christians that have what seems to be a natural talent for witnessing, others may have never mentioned to their co-workers that they attend church regularly.  As a member of Goodlettsville Pentecostal Church, we are on a journey; a journey of faith believed and faith exercised.  As one member verbalized to us recently, "Everyone is given a measure of faith, but you have to exercise it.  Your faith grows only if you work it and see things happen that you believed would happen." Today is a great day to make something happen for the Kingdom of God!

Tim and Cathy were high school sweethearts in Dyersburg, TN and after completing college degrees, were married in 1987.  They are the proud parents of twins, Clay and Mary.  Because of career enhancements, they have lived in different areas of the country such as Fort Worth, TX, Marietta, GA, and Raleigh, NC before moving back to Tennessee in 2001.  (It took Moses and the Israelites 40 years to find the promised land, but the Walker's found Tennessee again in only 14 years. )  They have a burden to be involved in things that are eternal.  While their relationship with God, their family, and GPC are the most important to them, they each enjoy other interests.  Cathy enjoys antiques and history and Tim enjoys playing saxophone and most sports that require a ball.

If you are actively sharing your faith, please make it a point to speak with Tim or Cathy at church.  They want to know how you are shining your light.  By sharing ideas, we can learn of better ways to become a "city that is set on a hill" (Matt 5:14)
