Church
History....
In 1944, Elder J.W. Wallace began holding prayer meetings in Goodlettsville.
Bro. Wallace and the West Nashville Pentecostal Church, which he pastored,
assisted in the purchase of the first church building on the corner of Church
and Depot Streets.
His son, Bro. J.O. Wallace, became the minister of this newly formed work.
He continued for some months.
In early 1946, Bro. W.T. Scott became pastor and continued until March of
1969. During his tenure, many believed and were baptized in the Name of Jesus
Christ. A number of ministers went out from this congregation to work for the
Lord during those years.
In May, 1969, Rev. and Mrs. Ray Carson became servants to this congregation.
The church moved to its present location in May of 1974 and occupied the current
sanctuary in September of 1988. In 1998, the completion of a larger nursery,
new prayer room, and enlarged auditorium brought us to our present
structure.
God has been good to us as a congregation. Great years are ahead for us if
Jesus tarries His coming. May God richly bless His work. |
